Meet My Best Friend, Turbo

AKA: Terbs, The Great Terbinski, Terbs McKenzie, Buddie Buddie, Da Boi, and Hey Don’t Do That

I was given Turbo when he was 2 years old in 2013, aka terrible two stage. He was a lippy, spunky, needy ball of energy of a pup that needed to be paired with a human who had a similar personality. Ta-Da!

He was my responsibility and I was his, we instantly bonded and have been inseparable since day one. Granted, everyone thinks they have the best dog in the world, and they do. All dogs are awesome. But this one is different, this one is mine. I keep him fed, exercised and loved and in return he keeps me safe, warm, provides me company when I feel alone, cheers me up when I’m sad. He is my alarm clock, my door greeter, my partner in crime, he is my absolute best friend.

I lost my fair pair of home decorations, mail, shoes and important documents over the years, but that was my fault if I left him unattended and items in reach. Finally, around 5 years old, he pretty much got over his anxiety when I would leave him alone and would no longer need to be in a crate.

Time to Move Across the Country and Find a Home That Allows Large Dogs… Not Easy

Fast forward, I got a job offer across the country and its darn near impossible to find a home in San Luis Obispo County that allows dogs. Rehoming him was not an option. I am thankful to have a boyfriend who loves Turbo just as much as I do and was willing to roll with the punches during this move. After multiple applications denied for a dog, I put together a book of photos, vet records and I had my previous landlord and dog sitter write me a letter of recommendation. FINALLY ACCEPTED! The home I wanted too! Perfect! The rest is history. Once we were in, we were in. It’s always hard getting started somewhere new, but it all worked out.

Here are some photos to give you some perspective on our awesome bond. Enjoy
